CROCKpot Stew: The Easter Bunny

This week’s CROCKpot stew goes to every parent around the world this Easter, who purchases a fuzzy and cute little bunny for their child. What seems like a great gift idea on Easter, is in fact, one of the most cruel and irresponsible things you can do to the rabbit and the child.

Each year in America, thousands of  rabbits are abandoned or destroyed due to neglect. Sure, they’re cute on Easter Sunday, but within months, the reality sets in and parents realize that a mature rabbit requires the same amount of food, attention and room as a dog or cat. Once the novelty wears off, the bunny gets ejected from the household.

Do us all a favor this Easter and stick to the chocolate bunnies.
