Beck Rally: Teabaggers Revolt at D.C. Deli

While Glenn Beck was undergoing a religious transformation at the Lincoln Memorial on Saturday, it was student move-in day at George Washington University (GWU). The school just happens to be located near the closest Metro subway stop to the Lincoln Memorial where the rally was being held. Students reported a smooth transition except for one heated altercation with Teabaggers and a delicatessen employee.

From the GWU student newspaper, The Hatchet:

Though the rally was a mostly peaceful gathering, two rally attendees got into a heated argument with an employee at the GW Deli over the D.C. bag tax, which ultimately resulted in one of the tea party members throwing a sandwich in the deli employee’s face. The GW Deli declined to comment on the issue.

The District of Columbia adds an additional 5-cent tax on purchases when you take your order out in a plastic or paper bag. Funds collected from the tax go to cleanup the polluted Anacostia River.

Look for Teabaggers to protest by dumping cornbeef sandwiches into the Potomac River!
