Prepare yourself Gleeks, the second season of Glee is just around the corner and we’ve got your first look at the new promo, pics and a rundown on new characters, plots and twists. Note: This post contains spoilers. (duh!)
Let’s start with the visual. Here’s the latest promo from Fox:
Here’s what we know (and think we know) about the first three episodes of season 2:
S2/Ep. 01 – Audition
- Everyone has to re-audition for the Glee Club. To add drama, either Puck or Artie will not make the final cut.
- The audience is introduced to three new characters: Sunshine (Charice), Sam Evans (Chord Overstreet), and the new female football coach Beiste (Jone Shannon.)
- Finn and Rachel are finally a couple and will remain that way for the entire season.
- Tina breaks up with Artie and begins to date fellow Glee member Mike Chang.
- After giving birth in the season one finale’, Quinn has returned to the Cheerios.
- Songs: “Empire State of Mind” by Alicia Keys and Jay Z (performed by Mercedes and Artie); “Billionaire” by Bruno Mars and Travie McCoy (rumored performance by Artie and Puck)
S2/Ep. 02 – Britney/Brittany
- The audience is introduced to Emma’s new boyfriend, Carl the dentist played by John Stamos.
- After the kids visit Carl the dentist, several experience hallucinations while under anesthesia.
- Britney Spears has a cameo and will perform with Cheerio Brittany in “Me Against The Music.”
- Mr. Schuester doesn’t want the group to perform Britney’s songs, but Kurt pushes for it.
- Songs: “Toxic” (performed by Brittany); “Oops I Did It Again” (rumored performance by Brittany); “Hit Me Baby One More Time” (performed by Rachel); “Stronger” (performed by football players); “Piece of Me” (rumored performance by Quinn); and “Me Against The Music” (performance by Brittany and Britney Spears).
S2/Ep. 03 – Faith
- This could be the most controversial episode of Glee so far since it deals with religion.
- Mercedes takes Kurt to her church.
- One of the kids will openly admit that they don’t believe in God, creating drama among the group.
- RUMOR: Kurt’s father, Burt, will have a life-and-death event, leading to a reconciliation between Finn and Burt and explains Kurt’s trip to church with Mercedes.
- Songs: “Losing My Religion” by REM; “Papa Can You Hear Me?” by Barbra Streisand (performed by Rachel); and “Faith” by George Michael is rumored.

Carl The Dentist (John Stamos) 
Glee creator Ryan Murphy says Carl is a “nice guy” and everyone likes him, including Will. Stamos will sing and dance in several episodes and will sing two songs in an upcoming episode featuring music from The Rocky Horror Picture Show.
Sunshine (Charice)
Sunshine is a foreign exchange student and showcases her talent when she auditions for the club, and becomes Rachel’s rival. One of the boys pursues her romantically.
Sam Evans (Chord Overstreet)
Sam is a transfer student. Finn tries to help him ease into the school and the two quickly become rivals when Sam becomes the new football quarterback. Sam will also become Kurt’s new boyfriend, leading to an onscreen kiss.
Coach Beiste (Jone Shannon)
Will and Sue will join forces against the new football coach.
