The Republicans continue their cuts to social and community programs that directly affect hardworking Americans, all the while they are voting to continue taxpayer subsidies to the fat cat big oil companies, tax cuts to the wealthy, loopholes for corporations. Those same Republicans then turn around and cut funds to education, environmental protection, consumer protection and aid to the poor and pregnant women. These twisted priorities to fiscal responsibility must stop.
There is no doubt that conservatives are waging a war on the poor and middle class and Democrats must step up and obstruct the GOP at all costs.
In the wake of the Senate vote giving Democrats and Republicans two weeks to agree on this year’s budget before a government shutdown, MoveOn.org has released this new TV ad urging Democrats not to allow the Republicans to continue their assault on the middle class.
