Bill Maher: You’re Not A Christian if You Celebrated Bin Laden’s Death (VIDEO)

Bill Maher thinks that the death of Osama bin Laden is a good thing. But the host of HBO’s Real Time took exception Friday night to the professed Christians and Evangelicals in America who took great joy last week in celebrating the death of even someone as evil as bin Laden, which is against the command to “love thy enemies.”

“Capping thine enemy is not exactly what Jesus would do — it’s what Suge Knight would do.

Martin Luther King gets to call himself a Christian because he actually practiced loving his enemies, and Gandhi was so fucking Christian he was Hindu.”

Bill wanted to make sure that the audience and critics understood that while he criticized the religious right for their hypocrisy, he felt satisfaction in the death of the world’s leading terrorist:

“My favorite new government program is surprising violent religious zealots in the middle of the night and shooting them in the face.”

And why doesn’t Bill feel like a hypocrite?

“Because I’m a non-Christian…just like most Christians.”

Ouch.
