Republican presidential candidate Newt Gingrich is turning out to be a a political buffoon on the same level of Sarah Palin and Michele Bachmann. The more irrelevant Newter becomes to his own party the more outrageous his statements become.
Take this video (below) of a recent Gingrich campaign stop in Georgia. Newt decided to poke fun at environmentalists, global warming, and green energy by claiming that only elites can afford to buy hybrid or electric vehicles because of the price tag.
Gingrich then explained why right-wingers don’t have any use for new cutting-edge vehicles like the Chevy Volt: “you can’t put a gun rack in a Volt.”
“We believe in the right to bear arms and we like to bear the arms in our trucks.”
What a freakin’ genius! Newt managed to throw red meat to his party’s extremist fringe by acknowledging their love for guns while slamming Obama for embracing that made-up science crap on global warming.

They don’t need electric cars. When the price of oil gets too high they’ll just toss a saddle on a dinosaur and canter off into the sunset like their ancestors did.
