Martha Plimpton is known for her work on the big screen and in television shows such as The Good Wife, Raising Hope, and Goonies, but there is another side to her that is making headlines. Plimpton has been a women’s rights advocate since she was a teen, and in an interview with Current TV, Plimpton talks about her liberal politics, and, specifically, the GOP’s War on Women. When asked if we could possibly be seeing Senator Martha Plimpton in the future, Plimpton says:
“No, God no.”
However, she seems to think conservatives will wake up now (goodness, we hope so). Plimpton says:
“I think a big part of the swing that is happening now is they got a big wake-up call, uh, you know, during this election, about their platform, about the emphasis they are putting on these social issues.”
Yes, Plimpton, at this time, says no to a political run. However, as we all know, actors and actresses taking political stances and turning into politicians is not unheard of, and, in these troubled times, there is no shortage of them voicing their political convictions. Could we see a Martha Plimpton run for Congress? I sure hope so! What do you think?
