The corporate gun lobby has supposedly discovered their feminine voice in the form of Gayle Trotter. She testified Wednesday before a Senate hearing on gun violence to give the female perspective on assault weapons in relation to proposed backgrounds checks or other safety regulations. And like her male counterparts representing either the extremist faction or the gun dealer’s lobby, she was contradictory, irrational, and expressed a view that runs counter to the majority of Americans. She’s not a ‘feminine’ voice for responsible gun owners. Gayle Trotter is Wayne LaPierre in drag.
Gayle testified in defense of women across America, who demand the ‘right’ to strap an AK-47 to the stroller, and how those defenseless women would have their Constitutional rights violated by enacting any form of background checks, or gun safety regulations. She passionately expressed how violent acts against women demand that they be able to possess an assault weapon to defend baby and bunker:
“An assault weapon in the hands of a young woman defending her babies in her home becomes a defense weapon,” she said.
Oh, my. Gayle, you obviously care deeply about women being able to defend themselves, or at the very least, have legal recourse to prevent or punish those who commit violent acts against them and their “babies.” Except that you don’t give a shit about violent acts against women. You actually opposed the renewal of the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) in 2012 on the grounds that it protected immigrants and would create an avalance of false accusations just to get some Federal dollars.
“VAWA now touches hot button immigration issues, which have the potential to encourage immigration fraud, false allegations of abuse, and denial of a rebuttal by the accused spouse, whether male or female.
“Americans all want to deter violence, but we also need to protect that foundational principle of the presumption of innocence.”
~Gayle Trotter, Independent Women’s Forum, April 27, 2012
Gayle insists that high-powered assault weapons make women safer and protect them from acts of violence.
That’s simply not true. Just one of Gayle’s lies that MSNBC’s Lawrence O’Donnell was only too happy to point out during a contentious interview on Wednesday night.
WATCH (story continues below the video):
Gayle’s testimony was a complete fabrication and an insult to the true victims of domestic/random violence against women. Like Wayne LaPierre, Trotter is nothing more than an out-of-touch minority voice for profiteers of gun violence, or the Ted Nugent survivalist wing, and will sink to any level to perpetuate the false narrative regarding the Second Amendment of the Constitution.
That’s why Gayle Trotter is Wayne LaPierre in drag.
