We Serve It, Even When It's Hard To Swallow
As a political blogger, I am constantly battling the inclination to become bitter, pessimistic, and hard about my fellow citizens and the world that surrounds me. One of the ways I overcome my ‘darker side’ is to spend time searching out reasons to feel optimistic and I usually find sufficient evidence in stories like this one.
A kitty is a kitty…even when it’s an endangered wild cat. This adorable feline was born Feb. 14 at the Brookfield Zoo in Illinois and is being hand-reared by the animal hospital’s staff.

Little Yoda was a multiple winner of the annual “World’s Ugliest Dog” contest and wore the crown proudly…if not awkwardly. Sadly, Yoda passed away this week at the elderly canine age of 15.

According to published reports, a mysterious foam begins forming on barn roofs, and atop pits of hog manure. The foam can obstruct ventilation until gasses trapped inside the barn explode, often killing hundreds to thousands of pigs.
