We Serve It, Even When It's Hard To Swallow

Poor Jon Huntsman, the Reagan Republican that embraces science, is just seconds away from dropping out of the race…”Despite holding more than 80 events in the first primary state, Jon Huntsman has raised just $1000 from New Hampshire residents…”

President Barack Obama swiped at Texas Gov. Rick Perry, criticizing him as “a governor whose state is on fire, denying climate change.” Obama also poked at the audience reactions at recent GOP presidential debates, singling out those who cheered at the prospect of someone dying because he didn’t have health insurance – and those who booed a gay service member.

Americans gain more than a trillion dollars in economic benefits every year thanks to the Clean Air Act. If attempts to slow down or roll back these protections are successful, American families will lose huge amounts of value in return for a paltry donation to the industries that generate dangerous pollutants.

Nearly 19,000 questions were submitted on YouTube for Thursday’s Google and Fox News Republican Primary debate in Florida. More than 100,000 votes were cast to help determine the questions…We took those 19,000 questions, which were asked among nine varying categories, and analyzed the words people used when expressing their perspectives

It’s been a regression of intellectual thought, where intellect has been removed from the equation and cast aside as something to be ridiculed and demonized, only to be replaced with a bizarre hybrid of religion, ignorance, greed, and bloodlust. Why else would those who practice stupidity-by-choice cheer for the death of an uninsured man, or celebrate the fact that one of their beloved candidates has executed close to 300 people in his state?

That seems to be the move that Al Gore is making with Current to counter the corporatized, right-wing media agenda that has infected our sources of information and skews the issues with flat-out lies and propaganda fed to us by the corporate state. After all, who has encountered more propagandist garbage than Al Gore?

According to economists, “in countries that really set out to do fiscal austerity, the results tend to not be good in the short term,” Elmendorf said. “I think the principle lesson of looking at countries like Greece and others is that it is a terrible situation to end up in, where one has to make drastic abrupt changes in policy.

Daryl Hannah, star of “Splash” and “Wall Street,” was arrested Tuesday outside the White House during an ongoing protest over the proposed Keystone XL Pipeline. The actress became one of 500 individuals arrested since the sit-in began on August 20.

“I think the administration has already demonstrated that it is not interested in focusing on private sector growth. What our list demonstrates is: Washington now has gotten in the way, and we’ve got to make it easier, finally, for small business people to grow.” ~Rep. Eric Cantor (R-VA) Of course, when Cantor says “small businesses” [...]

This hilarious video on Batshit Bachmann comes from YouTube user IWasJestSaying and uses a classic Beatles tune to highlight the Republican presidential candidate’s struggle with little things like facts, science, American history, slavery, homosexuality, women’s rights, and so much more. There’s even a little nod to her closeted animated husband, Marcus Bachmann. If you’re a [...]

The English translation of the video’s title is: “The Scandalous Truth About the Apple!!!” and appears to link the BP oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico, President Obama (even the Russians blame him for everything), Steve Jobs and Apple together in what appears to be a concerted plot to conceal the fact that Apple has used alien technology to devise superior products and dominate the world’s technology market.

From political animator Scott Bateman, this video features actual audio of an interview between GOP presidential candidate Jon Huntsman and ABC News’ Jake Tapper, about last week’s war of word between the former Utah governor and Texas Republican governor Rick Perry over climate change and evolution. Jon Huntsman: I’m the one who’s not batshit insane.

Everyone’s buzzing about this week’s viral video of a boat of tourists being pelted and swamped by large chunks of ice from a calving glacier during a sightseeing tour in the Tracy Arm Fjords near Juneau, Alaska. The video from one of the boat’s passengers shows the awesome power created by the falling glacier ice, [...]

Al Gore is mad. Really mad. Can’t say I blame him. I’ve never heard him rant before, but it’s kind of therapeutic to hear it, and I’m right there with him. This country is devolving into something I don’t even recognize anymore and it’s nice to hear someone of his prominence let loose. At the [...]

What do we value? We need to begin to talk about these things before they vanish before our eyes and our children are left with a broken and damaged country, and without the education to know what we were, and without knowing the potential we are letting slip right through our fingers. Before, for the first time in our history, we do things just a little worse than before. Before we leave our children with a broken country and a hopeless future.
