We Serve It, Even When It's Hard To Swallow

Which Disney team would win in a fight to the death? Would Hercules have the edge because of his Godly roots? Perhaps Aladdin would take the game with a little help from a lamp?

In “The Campaign” Will Ferrell and Zach Galifianakis play two North Carolina politicians with presidential aspirations. The film offers a comic relief from our current state of real-life political drama. Galifianakis is brilliant at playing a clueless politician whose only strong point is a wealthy benefactor.

British comedian and filmmaker Sacha Baron Cohen held a press conference on Monday to promote his new film “The Dictator,” and conducted the entire interview as the fictitious Gen. Shabazz Aladeen of the equally fictitious Republic of Wadiya. When asked about Republican presidential contender Mitt Romney, Cohen (as Aladeen) said, “It’s not much of a leap to go from firing people to firing squads.”

Here’s the third official trailer for “The Dark Knight Rises,” the final installment and epic conclusion of the Christopher Nolan Batman trilogy. Oscar® winner Christian Bale (“The Fighter”) again plays the dual role of Bruce Wayne/Batman. The film also stars Anne Hathaway, as Selina Kyle/Cat Woman…

We’re unapologetic Star Wars fans here at Veracity Stew. We’ve seen parodies and tributes to the landmark film franchise come and go over the past few years, and while some have enjoyed staying power, most fade into viral video history all too quickly. This new music video from Hot Problems definitely has staying power, and I predict will stand as one of the best musical nods to that galaxy far, far, away.

Last July, The Stew told you about Pottermore, JK Rowling’s “interactive reading experience” for Potter fans. The site has now gone live for Muggles the world over, and after signing up myself, it looks to be a wondrous place, which promises exclusive new content from Rowling. You’ll be placed by the Sorting Hat, you can brew your own potions, and have fun with a host of other activities.

A Star Wars mystery has finally been solved. We now know what happened to Jar Jar Binks! Up unti now it’s been one of the big unanswered questions in the Star Wars universe, and even the former Galactic Senator’s obituary offered few clues…

The online treasure trove of cool stuff known as Think Geek is selling this Admiral Ackbar Singing Bass wall trophy featuring the voice of the great Rebel Alliance military leader (“It’s a Trap!”), a little interstellar cantina music, and motion sensor. And who was the first one to purchase such a coveted piece of Star Wars chachki? None other than Darth Vader, Dark Lord of the Sith, who likes to kick back in the garage for a little private time.

“The Hunger Games” is a bestselling book series and is already shaping up to be a blockbuster film franchise. It’s all tweens and teens are talking about lately. The folks over at NextMovie.com felt there was a connection between the book/movie’s ensemble cast and another famous ensemble cast.

There are more than few die-hard Star Wars fans (like myself) who are less than enthusiastic about “Episode 1: The Phantom Menace.” I won’t go into all the pros and cons of the argument. But a few dedicated fans have put together a funny video poking fun at the lame lightsaber duel during that film’s climactic finish.

Minnie Driver’s new film is about a group of frustrated high school students, who sing popular rock songs, dance around, fall in love, and is led by a well-meaning and dedicated teacher (played by Driver). But don’t you dare compare this feel-good movie to Glee!. This is David Bowie meets ELO, with Shakespeare, and wrapped in vintage 1976 British culture.
