Gay marriage & the Bible? What th?! — From the brilliant mind of political animator Mark Fiore comes Mr. Dan and Dogboy to discuss traditional marriage, the Bible, and equality.

I am acutely aware of the idiocy and hate-mongering that spews from the extremist side of the religious right in America. They often come in disguise with names like American Family Association or Family Research Council. After all, my ‘people’ have been blamed for everything from Hurricane Katrina to the destruction of the ‘traditional family.’ That’s why I take delight when charlatans like Bryan Fischer fly their idiot banner and do things like this…

Uncle Pat’s off his medication again and he has some advice for someone with a friend who owns a statue of Buddha: Destroy it!

As America continues its dangerous and advancing flirtation with theocracy, some of us are wondering just how long this country has until a theocratic state becomes official, becomes a reality, because more and more, the evangelical right is flexing their muscle in shoving their religion down our throats, and they’re succeeding. I’m not saying Christians don’t have a right to practice their religion in this country – they do – and so does every other person who holds different spiritual beliefs…

The Catholic League’s Bill Donohue says he doubts whether HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius is a Catholic because she supports a woman’s right to choose an abortion, which – he says – is considered by the Catholic Church to be “intrinsically evil.” If you get your theology, history or impression of Catholics, Catholicism or Christianity from the loudmouths you see on TV (like Donohue), you might think he has a point. But you and he would both be wrong.

What you’re about to watch is perhaps the purest, most unabashed declaration of right-wing hatred toward women to date, which has been growing exponentially over the last couple of years, thanks to the anti-women party known as the Republican Party and their women-hating evangelical base. Most evangelicals will tap dance around the issue of women’s rights, trying to use clever semantics to hide their hatred of women – this dude does not.

Sean Harris, the revolting “pastor” of the Berean Baptist Church in Fayetteville, North Carolina, issued what I suppose was an “apology” on Tuesday, after his despicable rant against children…

It’s amazing how the GOP uses religion to further it’s twisted agenda. In an election cycle, it’s using both sides of the coin. The GOP is generally intertwined with Fundamentalist Christians. This time, they’re trying (rather unsuccessfully) to align themselves with the Catholics.

According to Cindy, the government will require an RFID microchip be implanted in your finger in order to get any kind of health care. Now, we all know the Christian significance of the RFID chip, right? Well, in case you don’t, according to the Christians, the RFID chip is the “mark of the beast” referenced to in Revelations 13:16-18.

Ridiculous, right? Not according to his latest statements regarding Intelligent Design versus the Big Bang Theory.

Bill Donohue is as happy as a little clam. Why? Because Jon Stewart finally acknowledged the boycott instigated by Donohue and his crummy little band of culture warriors. In a statement released on their website, Donohue said this…

Check out these jaw-dropping stats from the National Association of Evangelicals, part of the evangelical wing of the Republican Party that is trying to regulate and enslave the collective uteri of America (please excuse the pompous snarkiness to follow)…

After Rep. Paul Ryan the Right started using Catholic morality to justify the Ryan budget, political animator Mark Fiore felt a Divine endorsement of GOP economics was in order.

The suppression of women isn’t just happening here in secular America, it seems to be a spreading phenomenon, with the Catholic Church cracking its whip against the Leadership Conference of Women Religious (LCWR), a group of over 55,000 US nuns, who apparently have failed in their duty to sufficiently attack things like gay marriage, abortion and ordination of female priests. Not only that, but they did the unthinkable – endorsed President Obama’s health care reform bill.

Televangelist Pat Robertson must be hurting financially in the current economy. He takes every opportunity to remind his flock to ignore their own difficulties and to keep giving to God through the 700 Club. In a segment this morning, Robertson told a husband to “man up” and ignore his wife’s concerns over finances and continue tithing.
