The Tea Party had its time in the sun, but it is now time to publicly relegate them to what they are and always have been: a minority faction of extremists who put ideology over accomplishment and would rather ride their high horses off a fiscal cliff than actually govern. You gave them a louder voice then they ever deserved and now it is time to hit the mute button and tack back to center.
