It doesn’t take much to whip the right-wing up into a frenzy these days. In their world everything Barack Obama says and does is grounds for ridicule and derision, no matter how innocuous, and rather than at least respecting the office he holds, and celebrating the fact that, in many ways, he is the walking example of the American dream realized, they have spent the last three years trying to paint him as an “other,” as a foreign usurper, a radical, as a man who is not quite American and therefore an enemy of the state. From birtherism to radicalism to allegations that he’s a secret Muslim, Socialist, Marxist, Communist, Nazi, etc., they have tried everything to invalidate him and his presidency.
