Remember that old bumper sticker that insisted that Virginia is For Lovers? Apparently, that doesn’t apply to the GOP in Virginia. From what I can see, the Virginia GOP doesn’t love much of anything. They definitely don’t love immigrants. They don’t love a woman’s right to choose. And the Virginia GOP definitely doesn’t love Barack Obama or the fact that he just might be reelected. They hate the idea so much that they’ve called for an armed revolution at the idea of an Obama second term.
Warning: Extreme Sarcasm mixed with Veracity! — Aaahhh Super PACs…the nameless, faceless henchmen of the campaign trail. Without them, the Republican party might actually be forced to campaign from its ideological platform comprised of such infallible theories as ‘trickle down economics’, ‘eternal war-time tax cuts for the rich’ and ‘the annihilation of all social safety nets.’ Because that would not be the easiest campaign to win.
So basically what this law does is require women to report to their employers on their sex lives and/or whether they are using contraception pills for birth control, and would allow said employer to fire any female employee for their perceived slutty behavior…

The Tea Party Movement has a hard time with putting two and two together. It seems that they can’t understand how right-wing violent verbiage plays into violence. Don’t get me wrong. I’m as big a defender of freedom of speech as they come, but I also believe there’s a responsibility that’s associated with it.

The Chicken Little Squad is out in force this election year. The latest information on Social Security and Medicare – this time from the Trustees – is that they are in worse shape than believed. It’s time for the GOP War Cry: Cut benefits and raise the retirement age! Sorry, people, but after seeing Koch Brothers: Exposed, I look at all the warnings on Social Security and Medicare with relative disdain. There is indeed a conspiracy afoot, and it’s a vast right-wing conspiracy to eliminate both programs. In 2012, with the global market struggling and oppressed regions of the Middle East fighting to become free, and in this nation with its own issues and daunting challenges to meet, the Republican Party has chosen to focus its efforts on marginalizing women. While the efforts to involve the reach of government into the reproductive rights of women was problematic enough, it is the systematic elimination of resources for women who are victims of domestic or sexual violence that has shown the true disdain for women that Republicans must harbor. This disdain is obvious on the state level as well as the federal.

Note to John Boehner: If you want to secure reelection, govern like an adult and deep-six the scorched earth policies of your Tea Party base. If your only game is to obstruct on party lines and throw temper tantrums every time you don’t get your way, then you don’t deserve to be reelected. Period.

Foods, which includes Taco Bell, Pizza Hut and Kentucky Fried Chicken. Now the question becomes, how long before the politicians decide to bail?
Sen. Orrin Hatch (R-UT) has just fallen short of nomination votes at the Utah Republican convention, which forces the veteran Senator to face a member of his own party in a primary race in order to secure the GOP nomination for the general election in November. Hatch’s failure to secure 60% of the convention ballots is largely due to attacks from the Koch brother front group, FreedomWorks, which has targeted Hatch for not being a ‘true’ conservative.
If we can force them to shut down one task force, we can force them to shut down others (if not altogether), so pressure must and should be brought to bear on them as well, because their reach extends to every aspect of American life, and they are killing our democracy.
